Dinan® Performance Engine Software/Boost Upgrade for BMW E60 535i Stage 3
Benefits:
98 More Horsepower / 129 More lb-ft of Torque
Stage 3 Performance Engine Software safely increases turbo-boost pressure. The boost is tapered at the higher levels to keep from over heating and damaging the turbos. With a peak horsepower of 398 at 5700 rpm and the peak torque of 429 lb-ft at 4300 rpm is a monumental increase over the stock 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque BMW quotes.
Power
Being only 1 lb-ft and 14 hp short of a stock M3 in a package that costs less to buy, fill with gas and insure it is the perfect weekday commuter and weekend canyon carver.
Drivability
There is more to a tune than just cranking up the boost. Power needs to come on smoothly and in a predictable way to make the car as fun to drive at wide open throttle as cruising around town. It is your BMW, but reborn with new found acceleration and speed.
BMW Factory Matching Warranty (4year/50,000 mi)
No one offers better performance or backs it up with such a comprehensive warranty coverage. Dinan matches the new car warranty coverage for up to 4 years or 50,000 miles, including the possibility of consequential damages. If your BMW is past the new car warranty Dinan parts are covered for 2 years and unlimited miles. See the Warranty tab for full details.
Top Speed Governor Removed
Dinan’s software removes the top speed governor so your BMW will be capable of achieving its true natural top speed.
A True Software Tune
The biggest difference between a true software tune like Dinan's Performance Software and a "piggyback box" is that all of the communications between the engine sensors and the engine management computer (DME) remain unaltered. This translates to properly returned fuel mixtures, Ignition timing and full map rescaling to keep everything in sync. Keeping an engine running at its best and with the most reliable power is what Dinan is all about.
Emissions Legal
CARB legal under E.O. D-176-35 for vehicles thru 2008 model year. For model years 2009 – 2011 paperwork is in process for CARB approval. This product is in compliance with U.S. EPA Memorandum 1A, or this product has not been found, nor is believed to be, unlawful for use under the provisions of the Clean Air Act. See "Emission Status" for details.
Installation
Easy installation in about an hour at any of the +130 Dinan Dealers. See "Authorized Dealers" tab to find your nearest dealer or contact Dinan to make an appointment.
Easy To Use
Don't worry about cutting wires, downloading maps for different octane levels or uninstalling before service. Just install and you are done! Add modifications and use different levels of octane without worry because the ECU will adapt to the changes, automatically leaving you to just enjoy your Dinan tuned BMW.
Tips:
Shift Points
Dinan recommends up shifting at 6100 rpm as it is just above peak horsepower. After the up shift the RPMs drop into the range of peak torque. This is the "sweet spot" as it keeps the engine constantly moving from peak torque to peak horsepower and back agian.
First Spin
After software is installed the engine management computer (DME) needs to adapt to the new programing and takes about 100 miles to complete. Over the 100 miles the car will become faster and more responsive and so will your heartbeat.
Break-in
Dinan Performance Software can be installed at any time over a vehicles life. If it is installed by the dealer at delivery Dinan suggests to strictly adhere to the BMW break in procedure.
Gas Mileage
This is the beauty of a turbo engine. When the engine is not in boost (below about 3K rpm) it is sipping gas like a small non-turbo engine would. It is only in boost that extra fuel is burned and with the Dinan software more is burned at the higher boost levels. It all depends on your right foot, if you drive it gently it will use the same or slightly more gas and if you drive it at wide open it will use more.
Performance Software Stages & Upgrades
Any stage can be installed at any time and, if upgrading, just pay the price difference between the stage you currently have and the stage you are upgrading to.
